Jesus showed himself to Saint Maria Faustina Kowalska in the early 20th-century in a series of visions and messages that sought to share the message that God wants us to ask for His Mercy for reconciliation, and that we mirror Christ in His mercy with others.
This grace requires our trust in God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit, to be open to accepting our fault, seeking mercy and reconciliation.
The image portrays the blood and water of Christ's heart in two rays of light.
The pale light signifying the water component of Christ's blood and the grace of imparting righteousness upon the soul.
The red light signifies the life blood of Christ, for the grace imparted upon the soul to live again through Christ's sacrifice.
The image of the divine mercy is used with permission of the Marian Fathers of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary. Stockbridge, MA USA.
